Acupuncture

Acupuncture sends the impulse to the brain and produces the feedback reflex to correct the imbalanced homeostasis. At the same time, acupuncture relaxes the brain and promotes the release of the neurotransmitter such as endorphins, enkephalins, and serotnins. Fine sterile single-use needles are used on each patient and are disposed into a hazardous waste container that has its own special protocol too.

It is completely natural and safe and also compliments Western medicine by boosting our own body’s healing power and it does not interfere with the conventional medical treatments since it does not introduce any material into the body.

Repetition and consistency. Acupuncture requires consistency and repetition in order for the treatment to take root.

Doug only recommends what you need individually: acupuncture treatment frequency per week and if you need an herbal formula to enhance the acupuncture treatment.

Yes, for example, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Japanese, and Korean etc. Doug utilizes Master Tungs’ style in which he uses a fewer number of acupuncture needles. It’s characteristics are opposite side needling, distal needling and less local needling.

Electro-acupuncture, as with traditional acupuncture, needles are inserted on specific points along the body. The needles are then attached to a device that generates continuous electric pulses using small clips. These devices are used to adjust the frequency and intensity of the impulse being delivered, depending on the condition being treated. Electroacupuncture helps to readjust the muscle movement and block the pain signal to the brain.

Cupping

Cupping, is when small glass cups are placed on the body and suction is used to temporarily affix the cups to the body. One or multiple cups can be used and typically stay on the body for ten to fifteen minutes. Cups draw the blood to the surface, promote blood flow, help to draw out toxins from the body and align the qi.

Sometimes cupping does leave behind bruising but the bruising goes away. Actually, when there is bruising that means the toxin is being released from the deeper layer of the tissue. Therefore it is more effective.

Cupping goes back to the fourth century in China. Back then they used hollowed out animal horns for cups.

Pulsating Cupping

Experience the power of German technology: the pulsating cupping. We have the improved, modernized and more effective cupping set in the clinic and the only one in North Carolina to have this set.

A study in a German hospital Charité shows that this modern cupping set is more effective than conventional cupping. The pulsating cupping set differs from most cupping sets because the cups are attached to a machine with hoses which can create a pulsation and the intensity can vary.

Herbal Medicine

We do not have an herbal pharmacy, and we sell herbs only to our patients.

When a medical doctor diagnoses a patient, he/she begins with a symptom, for instance, high cholesterol or diabetes. Prescription drugs are given based on a condition or disease which are given to everyone and may have side effects. You could take xxxx for high cholesterol; your cholesterol lowers but your liver may deteriorate because of the continued use of the drug.

Acupuncturists and Chinese herbologists view the body based on Chinese medical theories which have been around for over 2,500 years. Is the whole body working as a complete unit? If the body is imbalanced, what could be causing the body to function improperly? These are some questions they answer. Since the acupuncturist or Chinese herbologist diagnose differently from medical doctors, the diagnosis is explained with Chinese pathology like blood stagnation or low qi.

Chinese herbal formulas are custom-made to the patient’s condition unlike prescription drugs. Further more, herbal formulas are safe and natural if it is practiced by trained and qualified herbalogist. The herbologist uses different combinations of herbs to obtain the desired result.

Chinese herbal formulas are very convenient since they can be taken at home, work, or on vacation. Generally Chinese herbal formulas are taken three times a day that equals to three treatments. This is cost effective in your time but also to your pocketbook.
Since every formula is customized, the dosage amounts and frequency of taking the herbs vary.

The Chinese herbal formula can be modified as the state of imbalance changes. Whereas, there is no change to prescription drugs except you may take a different drug that may have a different side effect than the previous one.

We do have symptomatic herbs which are just for a single condition, like a cough or a stuffy nose. The patient would take the herb until the symptom goes away.

Mineral Lamp

This special lamp has a round plate coated with 33 elements essential to the human body. When the lamp is on the patient, this mineral plate emits a special band of electronmagnetic waves and wavelength that coincide with the wavelengths and intensity of the electromagnetic waves released by a human body and are selectively absorbed by the body. The lamp helps to strengthen the immune function and helps to get rid of unstable cells such as dead cells.
