“I sprained my ankle badly. I went to Sports Medicine and physical therapy at UW over a period of 2 years. I had experienced chronic pain afterwards, which got worse and worse. The providers I saw referred me to high priced specialists, all of whom charged hundreds of dollars to no avail.

“I am 61 years old. I was in a car accident 12/30/10. I have severe rheumatoid and osteoarthritis. My right ankle and foot joints are fused. I also broke my left ankle/foot area in 2003. That was so you had some of my history. I have been treated for the last ten years or so by zillions of doctors and taken many medicines.

At first I came only because a trusted friend recommended it. The office was friendly so my first session with Doug Ko was talking. He decided that acupuncture would be the best treatment. So we started.

“It was with great skepticism that I followed the advice of a professional and tried acupuncture. This friend said that he, himself had benefited in a great way from Chinese medicine. So many things in my life had gone “downhill” including my health to the point where “Western medicine” simply gave up on me. I went to Doug Ko for treatment in June 2010. Due to a prior surgery, to remove my entire large intestine, Doug could not treat me with herbs but focused on the acupuncture itself to help primarily with my chronic restless leg syndrome. “After three or four years of progressively worse pain and numbness in my lower back, legs, and feet, I finally went in for surgery to relieve my nerve compression in my spine. The operation was successful, but a lot of pain and numbness remained from the abuse of my nerves suffered prior to the decompression operation.
