Winter Health Tips

You might have noticed a crispness in the air in the mornings and evenings.  There is no denying it, cooler weather is here.  Here are some easy tips to keep you healthier this winter.

Put away the salads, ice cream, and raw or uncooked vegetables and foods.  Raw foods can create dampness. In Chinese medicine, dampness can make you sluggish and can pain or numbness or increase cholesterol levels.  This is the time of year to eat soups and cooked vegetables.

Remember to bundle up and dress warmly.  You want to dress in layers with our temperature fluctuations.  If you get cold or wet outside, take a warm shower or bath as soon as possible. During cold months, it is essential to keep your body warm.
